WHY WE’RE HERE

Start with an interest.
Grow a connection.

ALL TO GIVE aims to bring military-connected and local Okinawan and Japanese youth together through shared learning and service. We want friendship, understanding and belonging to grow in both directions.

Someone explains a chess move. Someone helps with a difficult question. Someone brings an idea no one else had considered. Giving and learning can happen in the same moment.

For young people navigating moves, separation or an unfamiliar place, a shared interest can be a gentle way to begin. We’ll listen to families, start small and make space for different ways to participate.

A memory worth
carrying forward.

Jihyul Kim’s family describes his favorite TKBC memories as meeting friends, playing basketball and spending time together beyond school. What stayed with him was the chance to be together.

TKBC records from 2021 describe a children’s basketball initiative in Troy, Michigan. The family’s first documented ALL TO GIVE planning discussion took place on September 19, 2026. This is a new project inspired by those experiences, not a claimed continuation of a TKBC legal entity.

Jihyul Kim

Jihyul wants young people to help shape the activities, bring their interests and notice what others need. His idea makes room for the friendship, encouragement and growth people receive when they contribute.

As Youth Founder, he will help develop ideas and listen to other young people in a nonvoting advisory role. Adults will carry responsibility for legal, financial and safety decisions.

What a gathering could look like

Make room.

A welcome circle, clear boundaries and a cooperative warmup. Beginners belong here, too.

Share a skill.

Practice passing or dribbling. Encourage a partner. Learn to explain something with patience.

Give together.

A host-approved task, such as organizing equipment or creating a helpful practice sheet. Finish by reflecting together.

This is a proposed format. Dates, venue, ages, access, supervision and costs have not been finalized. No enrollment is open.

Our current status

ALL TO GIVE is a youth-led community project in development. Michigan nonprofit incorporation and an application for federal tax-exempt recognition are being prepared. We are not accepting donations through this website.

Michigan incorporation and federal 501(c)(3) recognition are not yet complete.

Selected adult leadership

Formal appointments will occur through the organization’s formation actions. The selected initial directors and officers will serve without compensation.

As Jihyul’s parent and adult organizer, Eric supports the careful planning behind ALL TO GIVE. He is a New Hampshire–licensed CPA whose background includes nonprofit tax examinations at the IRS and federal audit and financial oversight work within the U.S. Department of Defense.

He brings that experience to preparing clear records, documented spending and responsible adult oversight, so young people can focus on learning, friendship and service.

Before the first activity

Adults must arrange venue permission, appropriate screening and supervision, parent consent, emergency procedures and insurance review. These preparations are not yet represented as completed.

Jihyul’s portrait is shared with his family’s permission. The films use clearly labeled AI-generated concept imagery, not footage of our activities. Historical TKBC photographs remain excluded until permissions are resolved.
